Cash4Life features two life-changing top annuity tiers. Matching all 5 white balls (1-60) plus the green Cash Ball (1-4) wins the legendary Top Prize: $1,000 a Day for Life (paid annually as $365,000 before taxes, or an immediate one-time lump-sum cash option of $7,000,000). Matching all 5 white balls without the Cash Ball wins the Second Prize: $1,000 a Week for Life (paid annually as $52,000, or a lump-sum cash option of $1,000,000). The annuity is guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years or the natural life of the winner, whichever is longer.
A standard Cash4Life ticket costs $2.00 per play. The odds of hitting the $1,000 a Day for Life jackpot are 1 in 21,846,048, which is significantly more favorable than national rolling jackpot games like Powerball (1 in 292M) and Mega Millions (1 in 302M). The odds of winning the second prize of $1,000 a Week for Life are 1 in 7,282,016, and the overall odds of winning any prize across its nine divisions are an attractive 1 in 8. Lower-tier fixed cash prizes range from $2,500 for Match 4+CB down to $2 for Match 1+CB.
100% of New York Lottery profits from Cash4Life are dedicated to funding New York State Public K-12 Education. In New York, prizes over $5,000 are subject to 24% federal tax withholding, 8.82% New York State income tax withholding, and 3.876% New York City tax for NYC residents. Claimants can choose to remain anonymous through an LLC or Legal Trust. All winning tickets remain valid for claiming for one full year (365 days) from the official drawing date.
